Course 1: Website & Online Store Foundations 02/10/26 – 03/31/26

Website & Online Store Foundations is a live, instructor-led 8-week program designed to help you build a real, functional online store from the ground up. Owning and operating your own website gives you direct control over your business infrastructure. Your customer data, product information, and operational details stay with you — not third-party platforms, marketplaces, or vendors that can change terms, restrict access, or expose your information to bad actors. When you understand how your site works, you don’t have to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for simple updates, fixes, or listings, and you’re not dependent on agencies for routine changes.

Running your own website also means you control how products are listed, updated, and managed, including inventory, pricing, and availability. This reduces long-term operating costs, eliminates platform lock-in, and allows you to make changes quickly as your business evolves. Over time, your website becomes a stable, owned asset — one that supports growth, protects your data, and gives you clarity and control over how your business operates online.

Website & Online Store Foundations

Website & Online Store Foundations is a live, instructor-led program designed to help you build a real, functional online store from the ground up. Over eight weeks, you will set up your website, create a basic online retail catalog, and structure your site so customers can understand what you sell and Google can begin indexing and matching you to relevant searches.

This course focuses on foundations — getting your online store live, usable, and understandable. It does not cover advanced analytics or optimization, which are addressed in Course 2.

Important: Fees You Should Expect (Separate From Course Enrollment)

In addition to the course enrollment fee, you should be prepared for real-world operating costs required to run an online store.

You should plan for a minimum of $500 in required fees to cover:

  • Website hosting
  • Domain registration
  • Security certificate (SSL)

Depending on your goals and how quickly you want to move, total fees may range from $500 up to $5,000 if you choose to use additional tools and services that can significantly speed up your work, such as:

  • AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude AI)
  • Creative and media tools (e.g., RunwayML)
  • Premium ecommerce themes or plugins
  • Ecommerce extensions or paid services

These tools are optional. During the course, we discuss which tools are worth paying for, which are not, and how to make smart decisions based on your budget and goals.

What to know

1How do I get support?
Send a text message to ‪(404) 751-6846 for help with your order or account. For more complex issues, you may be asked to continue the conversation on Signal for added privacy and verification. ⚠️ Important: Only accept Signal requests from the phone number (404) 751-6846. Do not respond to Signal messages from any other number claiming to be us.
2Checkout might be very slow to load
Our platform is hosted on a secure server to protect your data. Occasionally, this added security can cause a short delay in generating your receipt. Please be patient—it will load, and you’ll be prompted to complete payment. If it doesn’t appear within a few minutes, feel free to contact support for help.
3Remove us from your spam
If you’re missing shipping updates, make sure to remove Oil & Eve and Shippo from your spam or junk inbox. UPS tracking emails are sent through these systems—if they’re filtered out, you won’t receive delivery updates. Be sure to mark both as safe senders to stay in the loop.
4Your phone number matters, a lot!
If you use a VoIP number like Google Voice, you may not receive critical texts or tracking links. Use a real mobile carrier to stay updated.
5Can I pick-up?
Yes! We now have a pickup locker in Piedmont Park! Select "same-day locker" at checkout. The locker is accessible 24/7.
6What happens if my package is lost?
If your mailed-order is valued over $100, it is automatically insured, and we’ll do our best to help recover your loss through a claim or reshipment when possible. However, by shopping with us, you acknowledge that all sales are final, and we are not obligated to issue refunds for lost, stolen, or damaged packages. Please also be aware that shipping sensitive products like fresh press and melt comes with natural risks—fresh press may nucleate, melt may grease up, and packages may be delayed, lost, or stolen. We’ll support you as best we can within the limits of our policies and insurance coverage.
7Why can I only pay Peer to Peer?
Traditional payment processors charge up to 15% in fees once you include banks, merchant platforms, and taxes. On top of that, payments can be reversed as fraud, even when no fraud occurred—leaving us to cover the loss directly from our own accounts. To protect ourselves from chargebacks and avoid the 7-day holds many processors place on high-risk industries, we use peer-to-peer (P2P) payment methods. This allows us to verify payment instantly and ship your order without delay, while keeping costs fair and service fast.

Why We Accept Only Peer-to-Peer Payments

To keep our service fast, safe, and affordable, we only accept peer-to-peer payments instead of credit cards. High rates of credit card fraud, attempts from underage users, and the steep transfer fees charged by credit brokers all slow things down and drive up costs. Banks often require us to hold orders for 7–14 days when credit cards are involved, but peer-to-peer payments let us skip those holds—so your order can ship right away. This means you can enjoy same-day and next-day service without unnecessary delays or extra fees.
